Excited about 2017 Kawasaki Ninja 1000 launch

Kawasaki has launched the Ninja 1000 sports-tourer in India

Priced at Rs 9.98 lakh (ex-showroom pan-India). Ninja 1000 gets sharper styling which is similar to Kawasaki’s supersport offerings.

Ninja 1000 gets a wider two piece fairing and a taller double-bubble three-position adjustable windshield that offers increased wind protection. Then there are the all-new dual LED headlamps with LED position lamps that is battery efficient.



Though it looks much similar to its predecessor, there are lots of changes in design which are further complimented with a revised colour scheme. The front fairing is wider and the windshield is taller (15mm) which is also adjustable up to three levels without any tool.The new Instrument panel features a large analogue tachometer along with a multi-function LCD screen with a gear position indicator

  

Kawasaki has also revised the settings for the shock absorbers and linkage ratio which helps the Ninja offer improved ride and firmer cushioning over rougher roads. The new linkage also results in a 5mm drop in seat height which now sits 815mm above the ground


Inside two piece fairing is a 1043cc 4-stroke liquid-cooled fuel-injected, in-line four which is Euro 4 compliant engine producing 142 HP of power and 111 Nm of torque. This motor comes matched to a six-speed gearbox and Kawasaki has thrown in a host of electronics on the Ninja 1000, like KTRC (Kawasaki Traction and Wheelie Control), KCMF (Kawasaki Cornering Management Function) and KIBS (Kawasaki Intelligent anti-lock Braking System).

Kawasaki Ninja 1000 also gets ride-by-wire and IMU (Inertial Measurement Unit). Suspension duties are via 41 mm inverted forks with rebound damping and spring preload adjustability upfront and a horizontal back-link gas-charged monoshock at the rear.Tipping the scale at 239 kgs, the Ninja 1000 comes with a 19-litres of fuel-tank capacity. The 17-inch alloys come wrapped in 120 section tyre up front and a 190 section tyre at the rear. Dual 300 mm semi-floating petal discs at the front and a 250 mm petal disc at the rear do the job of bringing the Ninja 1000 to a halt.
